Karl Schultz, Consultant
Karl Schultz specializes in manufacturing and technical management consulting in the electric motor industry. He is also considered an expert in implementing lean/world class business processes.
Karl is an experienced hands-on manufacturing management consultant who has had both line and staff positions in the electric motor industry. He was the division Director of Manufacturing Engineering for Emerson Electric for 10 years supporting 4 plants in the US and Mexico. He was then the Business Director of Manufacturing Engineering at GE Motors for 3 years supporting 21 plants worldwide with a $40M annual capital budget. Consulting has taken him worldwide in many various successful projects.
Karl’s career has focused in plant/operations management and manufacturing engineering at some of the premier companies such as General Electric, Emerson Electric, Chrysler and Cincinnati Milacron. He has served as a plant manager at several smaller businesses. Karl also has extensive international experience particularly in Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Mexico. He has developed and implemented white-collar productivity and quality processes at General Electric.
Karl holds a BSME in Machine Design from Western Michigan University. He is a member of the Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Association (EMCWA) currently serving as the Vice President and Board member. He is a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and a past member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). A contributor to technical journals and a speaker at industry conferences. He has received numerous awards such as Best Industry award (General Signal), Most Valuable Player award (BMI), performance awards (GE Corporate & Motors), and others. He is an adjunct instructor at the Oregon Institute of Technology teaching junior and senior level management courses.
Joseph Stupak, Consultant
Joseph Stupak Jr. is another Sinotech consultant. His fields of expertise include: magnetics, electromagnetics, magnetizing of permanent magnets, magnetic instruments, motors, actuators, sensors, and automatic control. Joe graduated from the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech), with a BS in Design and an MS in Control.
Joe has published approximately 20 papers and holds 18 patents, with additional patents applied for. He s published an extensive set of notes used in seminars on magnetics technology. Joe taught dynamics and machine design at California State Polytechnic College (Cal Poly), Pomona campus. Joe s toolbox includes a wide variety of instruments for magnetics, electronics, and mechanical measurement, forces, torque, time, weight, and computer finite-element modeling programs for magnetic fields.
